I make sculptures in a broad range of mediums from wood, metals, and stone; to found objects and mixed media. I became interested in sculpture in my high school studies and fell in love with the process. I find it gratifying that my final pieces typically don’t show all the hours of work poured into them. When my piece is finished I have touched and molded every part of it to work together in a concise and well thought out manner.

The fact that we don’t typically notice the thought and planning that goes into everyday life, interests and motivates me.  Most of my works are a variation of documentation for the purpose of beauty. I’m inspired by the humanism and precision of the renaissance as well as the emphasis on movement in the Impressionistic art movement. In my work I exemplify the natural beauty of everyday life and experiences with subtle artistic choices. I draw attention to things we place value on and the beauty we overlook.

In the future I see myself creating large scale functional sculptures among utilitarianism surroundings. I believe that beauty has a function in society that has been taken for granted and pushed aside to save a few bucks.
